Preliminary Video

In my coursework it is important to carry out a preliminary task where I have to record a short extract that could be part of a film. Before making this short extract I will have to complete a storyboard. This must be carried out so I know what I am going to do for my small extract. The preliminary itself should be done so that I am able to adjust to using the camera and how to edit. For my preliminary me and 3 other members of my group (Faustas, Naima & Zoe) decided to film in a class room. While filming our preliminary task we need to consider the different types of shots. The extract must contain a large variety of shots in order to pass the criteria of the preliminary video.

In my video above the story was that a loan shark (Played by faustas) has lent money to our main character (Played by Naima) and wants it back by midnight. We used many different types of shots and techniques. In the video the shots we used were:
Low angle mid shot
High angle mid shot
Close up
Pan shots
Hand held shots
Tilt shot
In all the video is amateur as the acting is poor. However since it is a preliminary task and we are not professional actors it does not matter. This task was just was just to practice. I think that the editing of the film was a little above average as many of the points where we had to cut were perfect such as when the door is opened when the loan shark enters the classroom.
