In today's lesson we were shown an extract from a film known as Shadow of a Doubt. Shadow of a Doubt is an American thriller from 1943directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Joseph Cotten and Teresa Wright. The small extract which we watched starts showing "Uncle Charlie" laying on his bed. As you can see by looking at some of the aspects from Mise En Scene Charlie looks like a wealthy and intelligent person from his costume and the way he is positioned. This is odd because he is in a very small apartment, he has lots of money just flung on the side and floor as if it means nothing. This leads us to believe that Charlie does not look at money as an object as he has lots of it.
In the second part of the scene we see two policemen posing as photographers knock at Charlie's building, but told that he isn't in. The two policemen wait on the corner so Charlie makes a run for it. Here we see one a chase scene. Charlie runs through a variety of different areas trying to escape from these two policemen. The next scene we see is Charlie's niece who is also called Charlie laying on her bed. Her apartment looks a little more run down, making her look less important and poor.
